Subject: Arrival of Mr. James Brown
This is to inform all airport personnel the American entertainer, Mr. James Brown, will be arriving this afternoon in Douala Airport aboard. Cameroon Airlines #UY710 at 18:15 PM. Arriving From Dakar (via Lagos and Younde) B737.
Upon arrival of the aircraft, the boarding steps will rolled to the aircraft, and Mr. Brown and his party will exit first. After disembarkation of the aircraft Mr. Brown and his party will be greeted on the tarmac by welcoming delegation. The delegation includes Minister of Agriculture, and former Chief Executive Officer of Cameroon Airlines, his excellency Mr. Samuel Eboua. Also in the delegation is business executive, Mr. Joseph Kadji Defosso, President of Union Camerounaise de Brasseries.
Ground services will collect the arriving party's passports. The immigration and customs officers should be ready to process their documents as quickly as possible, so as not to delay them. Mr. Brown's promoter has arranged transportation, which will be waiting nearby to take them to their hotel.
It is essential that all airport personnel conduct themselves with respect and professionalism. This is important for Cameroon Airlines and our nation. We need to ensure that our VIPs are given the highest level of service, and that all their needs are met.
Please be advised that a photo session will take place with Mr. Brown and the VIPs. We urge all airport personnel to remain professional and efficient throughout this process.

We have a little confession to make - the memo posted above regarding the VIP Arrival of Mr. James Brown at Douala Airport in Cameroon was not a real document. Gasp
But here's the fun part - we used our imagination to create an imagined memo from the Douala based, head operations department of Cameroon Airlines, to the staff at the Douala Airport on the day of his arrival. It was all in good fun, and we hope you enjoyed reading it as much as we enjoyed creating it!
So, while we may not have been able to locate the actual inter-airline memo that informed the Doula ground personnel of Mr. Brown's arrival, we hope our little fictional memo brought a smile to your face and entertained you for a brief moment. That said we did do our research regarding James Brown's trip to Cameroon in 1975, and the amazing photo of him at the airport. We tried our best to share that research in a fun and different way. In our view, this is a cool deep cut.
