Ecuatoriana Airlines was the flag carrier airline of Ecuador. Founded in 1957 and operated until 2006, when it sadly ceased operations due to financial difficulties. The airline was based at Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito and offered both domestic and international flights to various destinations in South America, Central America, North America, and Europe.
During their years in service, they became know for their excellent service and high safety standards. The airline operated a fleet of modern and well-maintained aircraft, including Boeing 727 and 737 models. Among their achievements, they were the first Latin American airline to operate a non-stop flight from Quito to New York City, using a Boeing 707 aircraft and was the first airline in South America to operate the Boeing 747-200. Their fleet were known for its colorful livery, which featured a blue and green stripe running along the length of the aircraft, with a modern stylized "E" logo on the tail.
