Hotel Saint Georges Beirut
The St. Georges conjures up memories of the belle epoque of Old Beirut. Built in 1929, this jewel by the marina is a fine example of modernism in an old city. Truly one of the great hotels of the world. European charm, and the best service. In its prime, it was the favorite of celebrities and royalty. Unfortunately, the hotel has been through a lot. Time, civil war, and bureaucracy haven’t been friendly to this one-of-a-kind hotel. Despite everything, its legacy endures. We at Layover Goods salute this very special establishment, and all that it stood for.
