In the 1980’s at 27 Rue du Commandant René Mouchotte, in Montparnasse arrondissement of Paris was located one of the most special discotheques of all time. Le Krypton. A club that was way ahead of its time. Situated next to a bowling alley, this “Boite de Nuit” or nightclub, came alive at night. It attracted some of the best DJs in Europe. Here was a place where guests could experience a world of fantasy and escapism. The club's state of the art sound system amplified the music to perfection. The music combined with the club's decor and atmosphere created an intoxicating atmosphere, making guests feel like they were part of something special. And it was special. The dance floor was massive, surrounded by two elevated platforms where people could dance, drink, and socialize. Guests were transported to a world of luxury and decadence. Its clientele consisted of the who’s who at the time. Celebrities, artists, musicians, socialites, people from all strata of society came together in a world of music, fashion, and glamour. Legend has it that one night disco diva, Sylvester came to Le Krypton and performed his famous disco anthem, “Mighty Real”. Sadly, Le Krypton closed, but its memory lives on.
